Events, diagnosis of allergy
False food allergy reactions gives a priori less severe than food allergy. The severity of clinical manifestations vary according to:
- The amount of histamine ingested
- The greater or lesser capacity of our body to eliminate the histamine in the intestine and liver.
It may well be both allergic and prone to false food allergies, which complicates diagnosis. Take the case of a food “histamine-liberator” as the egg white. Your child’s triggers allergic reactions (eczema, urticaria) consuming egg white. You think allergic. However, skin tests and blood tests are negative. It may be that your child does not degrade (or catabolises) not good enough histamine content in egg white. In this case, the diet is less strict than in the case of a true allergy.
