Selecting a clinic for laser eye surgery in the UK can be challenging. There are so many adverts promising corrected vision for about the same price as a pair of contact lenses. You probably wouldn’t want to trust your vision to a clinic whose claim to fame is low prices. Fortunately, laser eye surgery is quite common in the UK and you shouldn’t have much difficulty finding friends who have had the procedure done. Ask them what they thought of the clinic they used and how happy they are with the results.

Many clinics offer free initial consultations for individuals considering laser eye surgery. Take advantage of  this and visit at least two or three clinics before selecting one you feel comfortable with. You’ll need to see if you are a good candidate for the procedure, and be sure to see if the surgeon performing your operation has a good deal of experience in laser eye surgery. Be sure to ask what results to expect after the operation.

You probably will need to discuss payment options as well. Vision correction surgery is considered elective and is not covered by the NHS. Purchasing health care is not easy, it requires a good bit of research. Think how much research you would put into buying a new car, then do twice as much.
